Expansion of Ascot High Street Welcomed
Christopher Thomas welcome the development brief proposing expansion and added vitality to Ascot town centre with new shops, offices a community building, open spaces and around 300 homes.
The Ascot Centre Consortium, made up from Bloor Homes, Ascot Racecourse, The Crown Estate and Ascot Central Car Parks Ltd, is behind the scheme which is now open for consultation.
The brief covers the High Street itself and land which is currently used as the racecourse car parks 5, 5a and 6. Two consultation events will be held at Ascot Racecourse; a drop in on May 22 and a panel debate on May 29. The development brief can be downloaded from the scheme’s website at http://www.ascotcentreconsultation.co.uk
Regional specialist commercial property consultants and surveyors Christopher Thomas receive enquiries for commercial property space which vastly outnumbers the supply of available property stock.
In the past week we’ve let an office in Virginia Water to a business who had no choice but to relocate from Ascot High Street, in Sunningdale the letting of retail space to a local barber, a further letting to Winkworth Estate Agents and another retail unit under offer to a major bank. More well designed commercial property space specific to Ascot would be a significant advantage to the town and would help bolster the dynamic of the general area.
