Market Update – Windsor Commercial Property
Christopher Thomas are pleased to report encouraging activity in the commercial property sector. In the past month 9,000 sq.ft. of quality single floor offices have been let at Morgan House Windsor to Porthaven, relocating locally. Due to expansion, Linklaters Gymnastics have also recently expanded, taking 7,500 sq.ft. of warehouse space at Shirley Avenue Windsor, in the Dedworth catchment area. Other local moves include Plus 1 Communications new managed office suite at Parkside Sheet Street Windsor too.
In addition to the office and logistics sector various small neighbourhood and prime retail lettings have been agreed with a few openings taking place, earlier this week 39-40 Thames Street, which has been impressively refitted.
The October Budget’s help for small retailers is commendable, as is the challenge to Vape Shop retailers for whom small business rates relief will no longer apply. Added to this, as championed by Windsor Conservative MP Jack Rankin, Vape Stores are to be classified into a use requiring Planning Consent, so a formal sui generis process.
In addition to our agency work, Christopher Thomas also act professionally in valuation and lease renewal / rent review settlements (and professional valuations). In the past month we have successfully completed rent reviews at 26 High Street Windsor for the landlord of Glorious Britain, also for another landlord client, a settlement with Tortilla, 12a Peascod Street Windsor.
We are delighted to support our clients as well as we are able to, also to meet new, so were pleased to have been nominated and recognised as Thames Valley Commercial Property Finalists for the second year in a row.
The above summary is just an October snap shot focused on our local town. A lot else is going on for clients across the Thames Valley Surrey and Heathrow areas too.
